Michael A. Stackpole: The Dark Glory War (A Prelude to the DragonCrown War Cycle)
I listen to "The Secrets" podcast (http://www.stormwolf.com/thesecrets/podcasts/) from Michael A. Stackpole, which led me to reading this book. While it's good, I have to admit I'm not overwhelmed. I trust his other novels are better. (***)
Reiji Asakura: Revolutionaries at Sony: The Making of the Sony Playstation and The Visionaries Who Conquered The World of Video Games
A fascinating look behind the scenes of the making of the PlayStation and Ken Kutaragi's struggles to get it accepted. A bit hard to read since it was translated from Japanese, but worth getting through. (*****)
Harvey Karp: The Happiest Baby on the Block : The New Way to Calm Crying and Help Your Newborn Baby Sleep Longer
This is the other book we're reading. I haven't gotten through it, but Lisa says it's really full of a lot of reasons why you should use the method described in it before it goes into the actual methods themselves. But we've heard nothing but good from this anecdotally... (***)
Gary Ezzo: On Becoming Baby Wise: The Classic Reference Guide Used by Over 1,000,000 Parents Worldwide
I'm just starting to read this. I've heard good and bad about this book, as it's supposed to be good in terms of helping your baby through the night, but doesn't address certain issues. For instance, having your baby sleep eight hours a night might SOUND good, but all that time on his back may flatten his head, and require the use of a helmet to keep his head in shape (an anecdotal story I heard). We're reading this as well as "Happiest Baby on the Block" and comparing/contrasting the two methods to find a happy medium... depending on the kid, of course. :) (***)
Gabriel Garcia Marquez: One Hundred Years of Solitude (Oprah's Book Club)
This is what I'm currently reading through. It's Oprah's book club, but it's supposed to have fantasy elements to it.
Stephen King: Bag of Bones
I loved this story. Probably because I identified with it. One of King's best, I think. (*****)
Stephen King: The Gunslinger (The Dark Tower, Book 1)
I just put the first book in Stephen King's series here. Awesome books, once you get past the first novel (it's a bit slow). The second to last book comes out in June of this year, so we're getting closer to finally seeing this story resolved! (*****)

Why I love the Sleep mode on the GBA
I remembered what it was I forgot -- I said Final Fantasy VII was the first FF game I ever finished -- not true. I played Final Fantasy Adventure all the way through, and it was one of my favorites. I'll try to espouse more on that next time.

Shure E2c High Energy In-Ear Earphones
I CANNOT recommend these headphones highly enough. They go into your ear, and using either plastic fittings or foamy ones made from the same stuff as earplugs, they completely seal out ambient noise. They're perfect for plane rides, and the sound quality is phenomenal. HIGHLY recommended. (*****)

I've been trying to finish this game after carrying around my savegames for years. I'm getting closer... (****)
Interplay: Realms of the Haunting
An awesome action/adventure game that really does FMV right. Highly recommended, though it definitely leaves something to be desired compared to current graphics in games. (****)
LucasArts/Bioware: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Holy crap this game is good. I'm almost done with it -- so close I can taste it. If you haven't played this game, GO GET IT NOW!
Uru: Ages Beyond Myst
I'm truly devastated that Uru Live is no longer going to be. But the single-player game rocks, and is easily the best Myst game to date, though Exile is second-best only by a brief margin. (*****)
Metroid: Zero Mission
What I'm currently playing on my GameBoy SP. This game rocks. It's a remake of the original Metroid that I played to death on the NES, but completely renovated and update. (*****)
